- Ensuring the implementation of a unified policy of state environmental impact assessment in the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Determination of the efficiency, compliance and expediency of the activity of the examined object with environmental requirements and prevention of negative impact on the environment;
- Carrying out an environmental impact assessment and issuing an opinion on an objective and scientifically grounded environmental impact assessment;
- Organization and implementation of environmental impact assessment of the following facilities:
- Pre-design and design materials for the selection of a land plot and economic activities;
- Paterials on a comprehensive study of regions in order to give them the status of emergency zones and environmental risk;
- Paterials on the justification of the development and use of natural resources, their export and import;
- Documents for the import and production of new types of equipment, technologies, materials, raw materials, goods and services subject to certification;
- Comprehensive state and targeted socio-economic, scientific and technical programs, prospects for the development and deployment of productive forces in the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Draft normative and technical, instructive and methodological documents regulating economic and other activities related to the use of the environment;
- Projects to create development zones and transform the structure and activities of specially protected natural areas, recreation and tourism zones;
- Documents for the import and use of chemicals, biologically used products imported for primary use, products built on their basis, as well as technical rubber materials;
- Materials on environmental impact assessment, feasibility studies and projects for reconstruction, expansion, re-equipment, liquidation and temporary suspension of facilities, enterprises and other projects, regardless of their departmental subordination and form of incorporation, the implementation of which may have an impact on the environment;
- Participate in the consideration of agreed documents on natural resources, waste into atmospheric air, water waste, burial of waste at the stage of selecting a land plot.
