- Promotion of state supervision over economic entities, regardless of their departmental subordination and form of incorporation, in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation on the checking the activity of economic entities and other legislation in the field of environmental protection;
- State supervision over compliance with water legislation, environmental protection, norms and rules for the use and protection of water resources by water users;
- State supervision over the availability and compliance with the conditions of permits to special water use, limit norms for the discharge of pollutants into water bodies, as well as the established procedure and conditions for the discharge of these substances into the sewage system;
- State supervision over compliance with environmental requirements when using water management systems and reservoirs, lakes and other water reservoirs used as reservoirs;
- Check the activities of economic entities, state bodies, and individuals over the use and protection of water resources in accordance with the requirements of the laws of the Republic of Tajikistan "On environmental protection", "On checking the activities of economic entities" and the Water Code of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- To exercise state supervision over the use and protection of water resources in economic entities, regardless of their departmental subordination and form of incorporation in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation;
- Draw up report on the results of inspections, issue orders for their mandatory execution and draw up a protocol on administrative violations against violators of the law in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation;
