“Clean Area” campaign in the Ismoili Somoni district of Dushanbe

In accordance with the instructions of the Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a “Clean Area” environmental campaign was held in the Ismoili Somoni district of Dushanbe in connection with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The campaign was attended by employees of municipal services, the department of education of the district, and residents of M. Tursunzade Street and Rudaki Avenue on the territory of the State Unitary Enterprise “Housing and Communal Services No. 1 and 2”. The participants of the campaign collected 95 m3 of solid household waste around residential buildings, cleared sidewalks with an area of 420380 m2 and 4365 meters of trays from the garbage.  With the involvement of special equipment, the district road administration took the collected garbage to the official landfill.

In honor of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, employees of the Environmental Protection Department of the City of Dushanbe and the Environmental Protection Department of the Ismoili Somoni district held conversations and meetings with residents of the streets in order to increase the environmental awareness of the population, prevent waste disposal in unidentified places, place waste on landfills at a specified time, maintain the cleanliness of drains and trays on the territory of mahallas and microdistricts, promote landscaping and improvement of the district.

During the conversations with the population, it was noted that the rules of public order, landscaping and sanitation in the City of Dushanbe and the “Comprehensive State Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Education of the Population of the City of Dushanbe for 2021-2025” were observed.
