A ceremonial event dedicated to the International Holiday of Navruz in the Committee

Navruz is a symbol of the creation of life, the revival of nature, one of the most ancient traditions and living culture of the Tajik-Persian people, which today has received international status and represents our national values to the world.

At the event, which took place on March 18, 2024, with the participation of employees of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and its subordinate structures, speakers assessed Navruz as the beginning of all creative work and the realization of good aspirations.

In particular, in his congratulatory words, the CEP Chairman Mr Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon noted that traditionally all government bodies of the country, including the Committee for Environmental Protection, and its subordinate bodies dedicated to the celebration of the Navruz holiday, are making efforts to be at the forefront of work on improvement and creation, landscaping, planting seedlings, maintaining cleanliness and order in the cities and villages of the republic, so that the sanitary and environmental situation in the republic becomes healthier.

Following the Action Plan of the Committee, on Navruz this year, folk crafts and household items were put on public display using the example of folk crafts of Gorno-Badakhshan, Khatlon, Sughd regions, and regions of republican subordination. In addition, the festive landscape was decorated with national cuisine. Traditional symbols, such as the Queen of Nowruz and the Grandfather of the Dekhkan, gave the event special significance.

Singing and poetry recitation, sports competitions such as tug of war, games of chess and checkers, table tennis, and other games typical of Nowruz were part of the festive events.

At the end of the event, memorable gifts were presented to the winners of festive competitions, an exhibition of folk crafts, a dastarkhan of 7 types of products for “S” and “Sh”, and sports competitions.
