Press Conference on the Activities of the Committee for Environmental Protection in 2024                   


                                          


In accordance with the instructions of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, a press conference was held on January 30, 2025, at the central office of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event was attended by a wide range of journalists and was dedicated to the activities of the Committee and its structural divisions in 2024.

A representative of the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Alisher Samiev, participated in the press conference.

The event was also attended by journalists from television and radio channels, online publications, print and audio media, both state-owned and independent.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee, Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon, outlined the main directions of the agency’s activities, including the implementation of action plans, state and sectoral programs, state supervision, the improvement of environmental awareness among the population, and the introduction of other sectoral initiatives.

During the Q&A session, journalists were most interested in environmental protection issues, particularly the preparatory work for the adoption of Tajikistan’s proposal by the UN General Assembly to declare 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Conservation, climate change, the safe wintering of wild animals and birds, weather conditions in various regions of the country, the state of landfills, and the environmental situation in some cities and districts of the republic, among many other topics.

At the press conference, Chairman of the Committee B. Sheralizoda and responsible officials from the Committee’s relevant structural divisions provided detailed answers to numerous questions posed by journalists.
