Campaign "Clean Area" in the city of Bokhtar                   

                                          

On October 24 of this year, in the center of the Khatlon region, the city of Bokhtar, with the involvement of employees of executive bodies of state power, educational institutions, healthcare, local residents, entrepreneurs, as well as other workers of various professions, a campaign “Clean Area” was held on the streets and avenues and 56 garbage collection points in the city of Bokhtar.

According to the information of the Main Department of Environmental Protection in the Khatlon region, on October 23, 2023, the chairman of the Khatlon region, Davlatali Said, held a working meeting with the leadership of the city of Bokhtar, those responsible for the utility industry and other relevant structures. It is reported that the meeting discussed the state of utilities, ensuring the cleanliness of the city and attracting the attention of residents to the improvement of the administrative center of the region. The Chairman of the Khatlon region expressed his opinion about the alarming situation in landfills, provision of drinking water to the population and removal of consumer waste, use and maintenance of housing and communal facilities, sanitary cleanliness, landscaping, landscaping in the city of Bokhtar, including stressed that the activities of the state subsidiary “Housing and Communal Services” of the city of Bokhtar in this direction unsatisfactory.

It should be noted that in paragraph 5 “The Procedure for the detection and accounting of orphan waste”, adopted by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated November 2, 2012, No. 626, the Executive Body of state power creates a permanent commission for the identification, determination and accounting of orphan waste.

The commission consists of the Deputy chairman of the city, district, representatives of the regional structures of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Headquarters of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Main Directorate of the State Fire Service and other structures. This commission has other powers, which are included in the "Procedure for the detection and accounting of orphan waste."

At the same time, on October 24 of this year, in order to fulfill the instructions of the chairman of the Khatlon region regarding the timely cleaning of waste disposal sites and elimination of existing problems, as well as in accordance with the action plan of the executive body of the state authority of the city of Bokhtar and the Department of Environmental Protection, a campaign “Clean Area” was held in the city of Bokhtar. For the timely cleaning of 56 waste disposal sites on the territory of the city of Bokhtar, workers of various professions were involved, three lifting equipment and 18 units of multi-ton trucks were mobilized to remove various waste from the territory of the city of Bokhtar, as a result of which more than 400 cubic meters of waste were taken to an extra-urban landfill.

Representatives of the Department of Environmental Protection in the city of Bokhtar, on the basis of instructions from the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in order to ensure the cleanliness of the environment, strengthen control activities in all directions and take concrete measures to eliminate existing shortcomings.
