Conducting a training workshop to discuss the implementation of nationally determined contributions and the development of a climate finance plan in Tajikistan                                                

On January 26 of this year, at the initiative of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank, a training workshop on the implementation of nationally determined contributions and the development of a climate finance plan in Tajikistan was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

The event was opened by the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Qiyomzoda Zarafo Sufijon and ADB Permanent Representative in Tajikistan Shanny Campbell. In her opening speech, Qiyomzoda Zarafo noted the comprehensive support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of environmental protection, efforts aimed at implementing the Paris Agreement, adaptation to the effects of climate change and the importance of the adopted National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period 2023.

It was also noted about the updated NDC of Tajikistan, which was submitted to the UNFCCC Secretariat in October 2021.

Representatives of key ministries reviewed the importance of NDC in addressing climate change, discussed the priority areas and needs of NDC and identified potential sources of financing for combating climate change.
