Environmental workshop             

                                          

In order to implement the "State Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Enlightenment of the population of the city of Dushanbe for 2021-2025" and taking into account the implementation of this program in accordance with joint plans and activities, the Main Department of Environmental Protection and the Main Department of Education of the City of Dushanbe held an environmental seminar on the topic "Glaciers Tajikistan is a source of fresh water."

Ozoda Yuldosheva, the director of this institution, spoke and noted that in the message of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, HE Emomali Rahmon, it was said that Tajikistan was declared the "International Year of Glacier Protection" by the decision of the UN General Assembly in 2025. Tajikistan is recognized internationally as an initiative country in addressing issues related to water and climate.

During the workshop, the representative of the Main Department of Environmental Protection in Dushanbe, Akrampur Saidakhmad, made a speech and noted that with the direct support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a State institution "Glacier Research Center" was established at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan and expeditions and scientific research were conducted in this direction during its activities.

At the end of the workshop, the students presented interesting information about glaciers, their location, the available resources of glaciers and the largest rivers originating from glaciers.
