Informational meeting in Rohati Jamoat of Rudaki district                                                          

On July 21, at the initiative of the Aarhus Center of the Committee on Environmental Protection in cooperation with the NGO "Olima" in the Rohati Jamoat of Rudaki district, as part of the implementation of the "State Comprehensive Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Enlightenment of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025" in order to raise awareness on ecology, climate change and natural disasters, Informational meeting with public activists on the Promotion of the principles of the Aarhus Convention and the development of the "Green economy" in the Republic of Tajikistan.

After the opening speech of the Chairman of the Rohati Jamoat, Zabirov S, the head of the Aarhus Center of the CEP, J. Yakubov, presented brief information about the essence of the Aarhus Convention and the scope of activities of the Aarhus Centers of Tajikistan. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the action plan "State Comprehensive Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Enlightenment of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025". The participants were also given information booklets on the Harm of plastic on the environment and public health, and environmental bags were distributed by the NGO "Olim".

Then the director of the production and scientific State Unitary Enterprise "Tabiat" of the Committee in Environmental Protection Karimov A. made a report on the Impact of climate change on the environment and water resources.

After discussing the issues raised, activists and the Women's Council of the Rohati Jamoat expressed their readiness to implement the "State Comprehensive Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Enlightenment of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025" and to solve environmental problems of the area.
