Meeting of the Chairman of the Committee, B. A. Sheralizoda, with the British Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Tim Jones                   

                                          

On June 24, 2023, a meeting was held between Sheralizoda B. A., Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the British Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Tim Jones and Mrs. Rina Coria, Deputy Director for Development and Climate Change in Central Asia.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two countries in the field of biodiversity protection and climate change were discussed. The Chairman of the Committee noted the Committee's intentions to cooperate with BBC Animals to prepare a video about wild animals in Tajikistan. Issues related to the preparation of the Tajik pavilion at COP 28 in Dubai, mutual cooperation to strengthen the capacity of specialists to monitor air quality, water quality, waste management and rehabilitation of wild animals were also discussed.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee invited the Ambassador and his team to participate in the NFC Forum, which will be held in Dushanbe on July 3-7, 2023.

The British Ambassador expressed interest in bilateral cooperation and in strengthening cooperation between the Committee and BBC Animals.
