Meeting of the Deputy Chairman of the Committee with the representative of the UNESCO Cluster Office for Central Asia Kristine Tovmasyan                        

On May 31, 2022, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Mavlodod A. M., during the meeting expressed gratitude to UNESCO for its support in developing documents for the inclusion of the Tigrovaya Balka Reserve in the UNESCO Natural Heritage List, which is one of the areas of UNESCO's work "Man and the Biosphere".

At the same time, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee recalled the initiative to include the Romit Biosphere Reserve in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves.

Considering that national protected areas included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves are of international importance, another direction of this program is the development of geoparks in Tajikistan.

Ms. Kristine Tovmasyan confirmed UNESCO's readiness to contribute to the implementation of the Committee's plans within the framework of the UNESCO program "Man and the Biosphere".
