Participation and statement by the Chair of the Committee at the 7th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility                     

                      

On August 24, 2023 in Vancouver, Canada, in the framework of the Seventh Assembly of the Global Environment Facility, a high-level discussion was held on the topic "Can enhanced policy coordination between different sectors reduce the financing gap for environment and climate protection" in which the Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sheralizoda Bakhodur Ahmadjon, participated and made a speech.

During this discussion, the Chairman of the Committee spoke on the topic "Experience of the Republic of Tajikistan in the implementation of coherent policies and its importance in reducing the financing gap for nature and climate protection". In addition, Mr. Carlos Manuel Rodriguez, Chairperson and CEO of the Global Environment Facility, Mr. Stephen Guilbeau, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Canada, Mr. Andrew Deutz, Managing Director for Global Policy and Finance of The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Mr. Hon'ble Lyonpo Namgay Tshering, Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Bhutan and other dignitaries participated at the roundtable.

The Global Environment Facility Assembly is held every four years and Environment Ministers from 185 countries are gathering in Vancouver, Canada from August 22 to 26 for the Seventh Global Environment Facility Assembly.
