ReCATH: practical regional trainings on transparency of actions in the fight against climate change in Central Asia
From October 9 to 12, 2023, a regional training and practical seminar of experts from Central Asian countries on environmental impact reduction, monitoring and evaluation of adaptive measures, tracking the contribution identified at the national level (UNDP) in Central Asian countries was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan from the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the event and made a presentation.
The study was conducted within the framework of the ReCATH (Regional Hub for Climate Action Transparency in Central Asia) project, which will be conducted by the Central Asia Regional Environmental Center (CAREC) with funding from the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT).
The main objective of these regional practical trainings is to strengthen the technical capacity of national experts in Central Asia, focusing on data collection and processing for reporting elements related to climate change mitigation, tracking, adaptation and transparency.
During a practical regional study in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), national technical experts from Central Asian countries enriched their experience in the field of climate change reporting requirements, data collection methods, forms and deadlines provided for by the Paris Agreement.
