Representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations visited the Romit Biosphere Reserve

                                                   


On July 1 this year, the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of Tajikistan with the support of the Government of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the visit of the representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations to the "Romit" Biosphere Reserve.

The guests were welcomed by Mr. Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection, who noted that the Government of Tajikistan pays special attention to ecology and protection of natural areas. It was pointed out that at present the area of specially protected natural areas in the Republic of Tajikistan is 3.1 million hectares, which covers 22% of the country, this figure was 2.8% of the country's area in 1990.

For high-ranking guests organized an exhibition and a rich program, which included an introduction to the administration of the park, museum, technological capabilities were shown a traditional baking bread (tandoori), prepared Tajik national treats. Guests were also treated to horseback riding, table tennis, and much more. It is worth noting that some of the guests saw Bukhara deer with their own eyes.

At the initiative of the organizer of the event, a tree planting event was held, in which all those present took part. During this action, 100 evergreen trees were planted and a plaque of the new garden in the territory of the reserve was inaugurated.

Recall that in 2021, the Diplomatic Corps and international organizations were invited to the Tigrovaya Balka State Reserve by the Committee for Environmental Protection.

Such initiatives allow us to show foreign guests the unique nature of our homeland and the possibilities of the enormous potential of Tajikistan in the field of ecological tourism.
