On March 29, in the hall of the executive committee of the People's Democratic Party of Kanibadam, together with the environmental protection sector and with the participation of representatives of the city's education department, the editorial office of the Sadoi Konibadom newspaper, the melioration department, the center for state sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, teachers of educational institutions and students of colleges and Lyceums of the city held a round table on the topic of the proclamation of 2025 - "International Year for the Protection of Glaciers".

The event was opened by the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the People's Democratic Party in the city of Kanibadam and congratulated the participants on the adoption of the initiative and the global proposal of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the announcement of 2025. - "International Year for the Protection of Glaciers".

The director of the environmental protection sector of the city of Kanibadam in his speech noted that in December 2022, the UN General Assembly unanimously approved the fifth initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the water sector on the adoption of a special resolution, according to which 2025 The year has been declared the International Year for the Protection of Glaciers. Also, the participants were asked not to be neutral in maintaining the cleanliness of their habitat, to make a valuable contribution to improving environmental awareness and the implementation of the action plan of the “Comprehensive State Program for the Development of Education and Environmental Awareness of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025”.

Further, according to the program, the participants discussed the origin and the need to protect glaciers, the type and influence of climate on their melting, water and climate issues and its impact on the environment, the solution to the problem of ensuring universal access to clean drinking water.

At the end of the event, active workers of the sector were accepted into the ranks of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan.
