Sheralizod Bahodur's meeting with Mikko Kivikoski           

                                          

On May 12, 2023, Sheralizoda B.A., Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, met with Mr. Mikko Kivikoski, Deputy Director General of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two countries in the field of environmental protection and the implementation of projects for the protection of water resources and the protection of atmospheric air, carried out with the support of the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Finnish Environment Institute, were discussed. Mr. Mikko Kivikoski noted that the Finnish side is ready to cooperate with the Committee in other areas, for example, to strengthen environmental education.

The Chairman noted that the Committee is ready to cooperate on the protection of natural resources, climate change and NDC. The Committee's specialists briefed the guest on the activities within the framework of the implementation of the NDC and on the implementation of the requirements of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. The parties discussed the development of further cooperation.

Mr. Mikko Kivikoski expressed interest in bilateral cooperation and in strengthening cooperation between the environmental agencies of the two countries.
