Solemn meeting dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan                     


                                          


On 3 November this year, a solemn meeting dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was held in the meeting hall of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

At the festive event, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon congratulated the staff on this significant day, in his speech noted that the Constitution is a historical document that defines the foundations of the structure of the state in political, economic and social terms, which details the relationship between the state and the individual, freedom of speech, conscience, behaviour and actions of each citizen. The founder of peace and national unity-Leader of the nation, the President of the country the honourable Emomali Rahmon in one of his speeches dedicated to the Constitution Day noted that: "In the modern world, the democratic and secular structure of statehood has contributed to the political, economic and social stability of society, progress and development of all spheres of life. Tajikistan, being an integral part of the world community, has decided to create a state taking into account national values. For every civilised nation implements statehood in accordance with its national, historical, cultural, socio-cultural and religious peculiarities," the congratulatory speech noted.

At the same time, the chief specialist of the Committee's legal support department, Firdavs Saivaliev, and other Committee staff spoke at the solemn event, noting the importance of the Constitution in the development of the legal system, the branches of state power, and the achievement of strategic goals and national ideals.

The Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was adopted on 6 November 1994 at a national referendum and consists of 10 chapters and 100 articles. It has been amended and supplemented three times at national referendums in order to improve it.
