On this topic, at the initiative of the Main Department of Environmental Protection in the city of Dushanbe in cooperation with the state educational institution “Technological College of the City of Dushanbe”, a republican scientific and theoretical conference with the participation of industry scientists and teachers was held in the conference hall of this institution.

Abduullo Asrorzada Sattor, Director of the State educational institution “Technological College of Dushanbe”, in his speech noted that on the fifth initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan, the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly declared 2025 the “International Year of Glacier Protection”, which greatly strengthened the authority of independent Tajikistan in the international arena. It should be noted that the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, HE Emomali Rahmon, took part and spoke at the UN Water Conference in New York, USA on March 21-24 this year.

Then Abdulloev Sabur, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, employee of the Sultan Umarov Institute of Physics and Technology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan spoke on the topic "Study of the atmosphere of the famous glaciers of Tajikistan, Saidov Saidakhmad, chief Specialist of the Main Department of Environmental Protection in the city of Dushanbe on the topic "Climate change and environmental hazards", Sinoi Amirbek, Deputy Director of the College of Education, on the topic "The study of glaciers and their protection".

The speakers stated that 1,000 of Tajikistan's 14,000 glaciers have disappeared over the past few years due to climate change. Tajikistan's share in greenhouse gas emissions is very small, our country is on the 130th place in the ranking.

On behalf of the Founder of National Peace and Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, HE Emomali Rahmon, the Glacier Research Center operates at the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

At the end of the conference, a discussion on climate change and glacier protection was held among the conference participants.
