On October 14 of the current year with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and on the initiative of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the beautiful gorge "Shirkent" held a solemn event on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the creation of Shirkent Natural History Park with the participation of heads of ministries and departments, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations.

Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon made an introductory speech to the guests and stated that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan pays special attention to the issues of ecology and protection of natural areas. It was noted that the natural-historical park "Shirkent" was established by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on September 12, 1993 № 462 in order to protect and preserve the unique gene pool of flora and fauna, as well as the preservation of dinosaur footprints and the development of ecological tourism on an area of 3000 hectares.

A content program and exhibition was organized for the high-ranking guests, presenting the cultural, natural, and environmental opportunities of the city of Tursunzadeh, especially the Shirkent Gorge.

This is not the first time such events have been organized by the Committee for Environmental Protection, before that diplomatic corps and international organizations were invited to the "Romit" Biosphere Reserve and "Tigrovaya Balka" State Nature Reserve.
