Visit of the members of the Aarhus Convention to the Nurek HPP                  

                                          

Within the framework of the annual summit of the Aarhus Centers-2023, held in Dushanbe, on the initiative of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe, on October 18, representatives of 14 member countries of the Aarhus Convention, including 70 participants, visited the Nurek HPP. The guests were greeted by residents of the city of Nurek with characteristic Tajik hospitality.

Then, under the guidance of officials of the Executive Body of the State Authority of the city of Nurek and the Nurek HPP, the guests got acquainted with the activities of the power plant and the sights of the city of Nurek.

The tour of the guests continued in the afternoon in the city of Dushanbe. The heads of the sphere, guides of the Tajik Travel Company introduced the guests to the treasury of historical monuments of the Tajik people, stored in the National Museum of Tajikistan. At the same time, the participants visited Ustod Rudaki Park, the Flag and Coat of Arms Square, the monument to Ismoil Somoni.

The guests had a good impression of visiting a beautiful country - Tajikistan.
