Visit of the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Professor Petteri Taalas to the Agency of Hydrometeorology                                          

On June 6 this year, within the framework of the Second High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028", the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Professor Petteri Taalas and other officials visited the Agency of Hydrometeorology of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government Republic of Tajikistan and its services. Professor Petteri Taalas in front of the building of the Agency of Hydrometeorology was met by the Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Sheralizoda Bahodur Ahmadjon, Director of the Agency of Hydrometeorology Qurbonzoda A. and employees of the Agency of Hydrometeorology.

As part of this trip, the WMO Secretary-General and a group of guests visited the meteorological center, a small meteorological studio, an automated communication center and other structural divisions of the Agency and expressed satisfaction with the attention of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to hydrometeorology and working conditions of workers.

Then, in the conference hall of the Agency, an extensive meeting of guests with the Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection Sheralizoda B. A., the Director of the Agency of Hydrometeorology Qurbonzoda A. H., the Agency staff with WMO Secretary-General Professor Petteri Taalas and a delegation of guests took place. The guests expressed their satisfaction with the equipment of the meteorological service of Tajikistan.

During the meeting, the Agency's specialists informed the guests about the methods of work and technologies used, which were highly appreciated by the invited delegation.

At the end of the event, guests were presented with souvenirs reflecting the history and culture of the Tajik people. As part of his visit, the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Professor Petteri Taalas, also visited the observatory and meteorological stations.
