Working meeting of the delegation of Tajikistan with the Advisor of GEF Constituency for Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Switzerland   

On March 24, 2022, the delegation of Tajikistan met with the Advisor of GEF Constituency for Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Switzerland, Ms. Lucretia Lendman, who oversees environmental capacity building issues in the GEF Constituency.

During the meeting, Dustzoda Dilovarshoh presented a brief overview of the status and activities of the GEF projects in Tajikistan in the field of biodiversity and climate change, financed by GEF. The meeting also discussed the issue of updating the NBSAP for the period of 2030, the development and submission of project proposals within the GEF-8 portfolio, holding a GEF consultation meeting and supporting Tajikistan's initiatives under the Global Biodiversity Framework for post-2020 period.

The delegation of Tajikistan also informed Ms. Lucretia about the planned international and regional initiatives of Tajikistan, in particular several international conferences and seminars on water resources and climate change, and Ms. Lucretia expressed her readiness to support activities under these events.

The parties agreed that they would continue consultations at all levels to support planned activities and initiatives at the national and regional levels.
